Domaine Lavau
Domaine Lavau is a family owned company specialised in the vinification of fine wines of the Rhône Valley. The family has been making wines for more than 5 generations.
It all began in Saint-Émilion in the 19th century, and continued in Tunisia where René Lavau and his son transformed a small estate of vines and orange trees into a flourishing business which became the country’s biggest wine producer. Jean-Guy Lavau (René’s grandson) and his wife Anne-Marie returned to France in the 1960s and took charge of a small winemaking cellar in Sablet at the heart of the Rhone Valley.
This project became Maison LAVAU in 1965. Since 2010, they own several vineyards, in Valréas, Bagnols sur Cèze and Rasteau, as well as a Château in Châteauneuf du Pape: Château Maucoil.
The family owns several wine estates and 180 hectares of vines in the Rhône Valley.
