Grand Cru Classé 1855
The name “Boyd” dates from the middle of the 18th century. The Boyds were an important family of Belfast traders originating from Scotland. In 1754, Lord Jacques Boyd, buys Castelnau de Médoc from Sieur Bernard de Sainvincens to found the famous field of “Boyd-Cantenac”, a classified third growth in 1855.
Since 1932, the Winery has been run by the Guillemet family. Lucien Guillemet established the project "Joséphine de Boyd", second wine of the Château.
