Story

Lavau is a family owned company specialised in the vinification of fine wines of the Rhône Valley. The family has been making wines for more than 5 generations. Since 2010, they own several vineyards, in Valréas, Bagnols sur Cèze and Rasteau, as well as a Château in Châteauneuf du Pape: Château Maucoil.

Vineyard

The vineyard has minimum treatment possible to optimise the yield with grapes at perfect maturity. A selection of the best fruits is done to ensure the highest quality wine on the steeo hillsides of Gigondas. Grapes are picked in the early morning to deliver the best quality.

Vinification

Once the fruit arrives to the winery, it undergoes traditional vinification, pump overs, and racking. The wine is aged 30% in french oak, and 70% in vats over the course of 12 months.

Tasting Notes

The steep hillside and natural exposure of the vineyard site offers a wine high in concentration, rich and well balanced.

This wine is perfect elaborate stews, charcuterie and cheeses.
