The ‘Domaine de Montine’ family wine history begins in 1933, when the great grandfather Albert bought the farm. Today the 4th generation girls Melina and Camille are picking up the family torch. Sustainable development is their main priority, along with respect to the environment and soils.
The vines are planted on limestone soils. Every other row is tilled, while the other remains covered in grass for an optimal biome. The vines are on a high trellis system, and are only worked on manually. Harvest occurs at night to preserve the integrity of the grapes.
The fruit is cold macerated for 4 hours, followed by a gentle oress into thermo-controlled steel tanks. Once settled, the wine is stirred weekly. No malolactic fermentation occurs.
Slight exotic fruits flavor, peach and white flowers on the nose. The palate it is rich and generous with a well structured body enabling a long mineral finish. Drink now, or age 3 to 5 years in bottle.
This wine will perfectly match truffle dishes (Ravioles du Dauphiné, omelette, buttered toast and coarse salt).
