Story
Located in La Cadière d’Azur the Estate of la Garenne, owes its fame to its red and rosé wines in the Bandol appellation. The estate has been in the family for more than 6 generations. In 1961 count Jean de Balincourt took over the vineyard, which now covers an area of 26 hectares. The estate guarantees traditional tillage around integrated cultivation.
Vineyard
The vines are planted on soils of clay and limestone. The vineyard is traditionally tilled, both mechanically and by hand, with minimal soil treatment. The grapes are hand harvested, with cluster selection at the vineyard.
Vinification
The Grapes are destemmed, and then a selected quantity goes to direct press, while the rest undergo cold-maceration on the skins. The juice is then fermented at regulated cool temperatures.
Tasting Notes
Lovely light pink colouring, fresh fruity taste. Refined and delicate in mouth, a good year. A gastronomic wine.
Food Pairing
Bandol rosé wine particularly appreciates dishes with fish, grilled meat, bouillabaisse, poultry… Or as an aperitif. Serve at around 13 degrees Celsius.
