Story
The Château de la Roulerie is located in the commune of Saint Aubin de Luigné in the Loire Valley of France. The estate was established in the 19th century but its vineyards date all the back to the 14th century. Today is encompasses 42 hectares of vines, 30 of which Chenin Blanc and 12 of Cabernet Franc. Their philosophy is to respect the earth, its history and the people who tend to it. This winery is certified “Agriculture Biodynamic”, or Organic.
Vineyard
The vines are planted on hill side composed of clay soils with great exposure. The vines are hand harvested.
Vinification
The fruit is picked over-matured, when the concentration of sugar is the highest. The juice is vinified and aged in 400 Litre barrels.
Tasting Notes
A beautiful golden robe in the glass presents a nose of jammy yet bright orange and yellow fruit. The mouth is elegant and well balanced, with a sharp acidity to cut through the delicate sweetness.
Food Pairing
This wine sits well with white meats, fish and spicy cuisines. We recommend decanting this wine.
