Story
Domaine Larochette has been passed from father to son for generations. They are located in southern Burgundy on the slopes of Chaintré. Fabrice took over the vineyard in 1988 and began bottling under his name in 1995. The terroir is maintained with repect to local tradition and methods, all while utilizing modern technical developments of our day.
Vineyard
The vineyards are located on the rocks of Solutré and Vergisson (400 meters), in the Mâconnais, which runs from Tournus in Macon for about fifty kilometers from north to south, bordered by the peaceful course of the Saône. These plots all face North West and have a clayey sandy soil, and only see natural fertilizers. This is an ideal setting to grow rich chardonnay. In these part of Burgundy the vines are prunned in a very unique way: “Arcure du Maconnais”.
Vinification
The fruit is hand picked. Winemaking occurs with the use of pneumatic press, and both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in temperature control stainless steel vats. Ageing continues in stainless steel.
