Story
In 1858 the Ducourt family created it’s first estate with a few hectares of vines in Ladaux, a small village southwest of Bordeaux. Today the Ducourts own one of the largest independant vineyards in the region with 440 hectares of vines spread over 13 châteaux in the Entre-Deux-Mers and Saint-Emilion appellations. These estates produce 2.5 million bottles a year. Four of the Château’s are represented by Planet Wine.
Vinification
The winemaking is traditional in manner, selecting the best fruit for 24h skin maceration, and fermentation in temperature controlled environments (61-64F). The ageing is then done on lees, in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks.
Vineyard
The Château La Rose du Pin is located in the commune of Romagne. The vines are planted on limestone, chalk and clay soils.
Tasting Notes
The wine is fruity on the nose, crisp and refreshing on the palate with lingering taste of meyer lemon and floral aroma.
Food Pairing
Serve with shellfish or a charcuterie plate for an ideal pairing.
