Story
In 1858 the Ducourt family created it’s first estate with a few hectares of vines in Ladaux, a small village southwest of Bordeaux. Today the Ducourts own one of the largest independant vineyards in the region with 440 hectares of vines spread over 13 châteaux in the Entre-Deux-Mers and Saint-Emilion appellations. These estates produce 2.5 million bottles a year. In 1979, Marie-Christine daughter of Henry Ducourt buys this prestigious property. The vineyard was completely replanted in only 3 years and the Château from the XIV century renovated. Four of the Château’s are represented by Planet Wine.
Vineyard
Located on a hillside near the entrance of Coimères in south-east Bordeaux, Château Larroque has an exceptional terroir composed of gravelly clay.
Vinification
The fruit is cold macerated, and then fermented in stainless steel thermoregulated tanks. The wine is then aged for 12 months in Oak Barrel.
Tasting Notes
The wine is of a dark ruby color, with purple hues. Aromas of vanilla, coffee and black currants. Flacors of red berries with a rich, balanced finish of fine tannin.
Tasting Notes
Enjoy with a roasted rack of lamb, or most grilled red meats.
