Domaine des Meix
Christophe Guillo attempts to maintain a product of quality in a setting where nature dominates man. Furthermore, this winemaker does not come from a family of wine farmers, presenting yet another obstacle for him to climb. Prior to Christophe's oenologist education at the University of Dijon, the lands were leased for about 20 years.
The story begins when Christophe, in 1984, he joined a small but prestigious wine house in Beaune. Directing all aspects of the business from vine to bottle, he was able to refine his passion until he was ready to run is own domaine.
In the early 90s, Christophe Guillo took over the land and created Domaine des Meix. Over the course of 5 years, he and his wife worked relentlessly to rejuvenate the vineyards of “The Murgers des Dents de Chien”. He is now the largest owner of this 1er cru with 1.75 Ha in one parcel, keeping the oldest vines (1939) of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir. Having these three varietals in one plot is unique in this terroir and thus deserves its monopoly position .
