Paso Robles Region

California is a state that needs no introduction to wine lovers. With a climate and terrain that offer limitless stylistic possibilities to winemakers, California now produces more than 90 percent of all wine made in the United States. And Paso Robles is without a doubt one of its finest winemaking regions.

Located on California’s Central Coast, Paso Robles is a dramatic exception to the area’s generally cool climate. On its western side, Paso Robles is shielded from the cool, maritime influence of the Pacific Ocean by the almost solid curtain of the Santa Lucia Mountains. Nights are typically chilly but the days are long, dry, and quite hot.

The region’s original Spanish name, El Paso de Robles, means the “pass of oaks,” and its warm expanse of sun-baked, oak studded hills is ideal for the cultivation of ripe Cabernet, Zinfandel and Syrah.
