Alsace Region

Nicknamed “the kingdom of the great white wines,” Alsace is a unique winegrowing region in eastern France, which for much of its history has bounced between German and French sovereignty. Alsace is a must for anyone looking for real variety and outstanding aromatics in their wines.

Alsace’s vineyards cover more than 37,000 acres and the region produces approximately 150 million bottles of wine per year, making it France’s biggest white wine producer. The white wines of Alsace are highly distinctive and rarely made in other parts of France. The most important grapes grown in the region are Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Muscat and Pinot Gris.
