How we select our wines?

As soon as you enter the world of wine, you begin to realize how closely connected everyone is to everyone else, and that in fact it's a very small world - though paradoxically, one that also spans the globe! We've always felt fortunate to be part of such a tight-knit community, and it gives us great pleasure to welcome you to it as well.

Thanks to our studies in the International office of Wines and Vines (OIV) Master's Program, we got off to a quick start in developing our professional network within the wine industry. In 2007, we began the adventure called Planet Wine with a portfolio of wines from 10 exceptional wineries. Today, we are proud to work with over 30 producers from around the world, including France, Italy, New Zealand and the United States.

Our business is as much about people as it is about wine, and we strive to forge strong connections with our producers and clients. These human connections help us to understand where our wines come from, how they are made, and the combination of quality and value they offer to our customers. We will only select a wine for our portfolio after we've gotten to know its maker, learned about its origins, compared our tasting notes, and finally, feel absolutely confident of its quality. This painstaking process is the very core of our business!

In addition to being great winemakers, all of our producers place great importance on careful vineyard management, soil and water conservation, and environmental stewardship. After all, responsible agricultural and ecological practices don't just lead to a healthier planet – they also produce better wines.

At Planet Wine, our raison d'etre is to bring our fellow wine lovers great wines at great prices, while also doing our part to support sustainable, environmentally-friendly practices in the wine industry. We are deeply grateful to our featured producers for giving us the opportunity to represent their wines in California, and we are equally grateful to our loyal customers who have shown such appreciation for the wines we've chosen.
