Type of domain: : The Domaine Chante Cigale is owned and operated by the Favier family. Christian Favier, the father, recently handed over the reins to his son Alexandre who, at 25 years old, seems too young to be making such impressive wines. The estate has been classified Chateauneuf du Pape in the Sabon-Favier family for several generations.
Year established: 1936
Size of the vineyards: 102 acres
Agriculture: - Manual grape harvest with selective sorting
- Sustainable agriculture
Total production: 14,100 cases per year
Terroir/Soil: The estate is located in a very stony part of the Chateauneuf du Pape area, where you can find the famous “galets roulés”. A large part of the vineyard is located on the famous plateau de Cabrieres near the Chateau Montredon. Rolled pebbles (limestone) soil.
